Here is my first mid sized base design utilizing most of the traps available on Alpha 16. I consider this mid size due to the multiple layers underground used to house the electrical relays and wiring for all the traps. All the new traps, with the exception of the auto turret, are used in this build. The entire base inside and out was painted using the new Alpha 16 paint tool as well. Sit back and enjoy as the horde smashes into this electrical nightmare. The fps did suffer a bit because of all the mayhem caused by the blades, electric fences, shotgun turrets, and dart traps. The difficulty is set to one notch below insane.

    why dont you edit the xml to make the blades more durable like your hoping for in a patch

      would changing to .5 say mean thay take less damage when make contact with a zombie that way you aint got crazy hp traps but a exploding cop still do a lot of damage but the blades wont kill them self doing there job

      At some point, I may do just that. They just don’t last for as long as the hordes take to get through. Would be nice to see them have another 2 k hit points.

    Just a tip for the dart traps. If you use motion sensors then they will only shoot when they see something instead of being «always on».

      What about pressure plates?? I have them set up on mine and find them way more efficient than anything else. But then again I can’t criticize your base seems to hold up better than mine any day lol

      I originally had them set up on sensors. The sensors were all the way at the bottom by the shotgun turrets. The problem is, The sensors would pick up zombies all the way up to the surface through the blocks. The traps were going off 100% of the time. At least with the switch, I can turn them on and off if the zombies start to pile up around my center bunker. I hope that they fix the way the sensors work in the future.

    Auto turrets work well . Shotguns if set in kill allies often try to kill the owner .

    Way too much material wasted… A Base 10x smaller is much more efficient and durable and also much easier to maintain!
    Nice build anyway but guys the blades are Top!! You just need a position to repair them during the horde.. = for that reason a much smaller defendable Base!

    Good work buddy. Ive spent a while automating my defences with motion sensors, so that the blade traps and fences are only active and using power when the connected motion sensor detects an enemy. It saves sooooo much power and therefore gas. You should have a play around with them and maybe integrate them into your design. Well worth doing imo

    The dart traps just continually fire??? What a waste of darts. They would cause damage to whatever they impact too if it wasn’t zombies. Seems a bit dumb to me

      I tried using the motion detectors. Problem was, the radius that they pick up is huge, so zombies that had not even fallen into the pit were being detected, and they were firing all the time. I put them this way, so that when they start piling up at the base of the center, I could use them to clear everything out. They don’t do any block damage that I could see. Heck they don’t even destroy the gore blocks directly under them, which have almost no hit points. The damage they do is very minimal. I would even say they don’t do as much damage as the barbed wire does.

      Hopefully in an update they will let you adjust the radius of the motion detectors. Can’t see why they wouldn’t make it so you can set the distance and arc of vision of them. Thanks for the answer.
